About Us

Robert “Ben” Fuchs graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering Technology in 1995. He worked as a land surveyor in the private sector from 1995-2005. He has been a licensed Illinois Professional Land Surveyor since 2005. He began working for the federal government in 2006 as a geodetic/geophysical surveyor for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) .  He departed the NGA as a division wide technical lead and is now concentrating on his private surveying business, South Central Surveying, LLC.  South Central Surveying, LLC has been incorporated in the State of Illinois since 2010 and continues to provide professional land surveying services.

Robert “Lance” Brown served in the United States Navy from 1988-1991 as an Opticalman, and was stationed in Holy Loch, Scotland. Lance was honorably discharged from military service, and then graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology in 1995. He worked as a land surveyor in the private sector from 1995-2003. He has been a licensed Professional Land Surveyor since 2001. He began working for the federal government in 2003 as the Forest Land Surveyor for the Shawnee National Forest, in Harrisburg, Illinois, and now serves as the Survey Program Manager.  In addition to his federal service, he operates a private surveying business, South Central Surveying, LLC, partnered with Ben Fuchs.  South Central Surveying, LLC has been incorporated in the State of Illinois since 2010 and continues to provide professional land surveying services.
